Today, a multi-agency investigation is underway after four people were found dead on Tuesday morning in what police describe as a connected homicide-suicide case spanning two cities.

According to KOMO News, the discovery began at 10:45 a.m. when Mercer Island police conducted a welfare check at a residence on SE 46th Street. The request followed a “concerning email” sent to an attorney representing the homeowner. Inside, officers found a woman in her 70s and a man in his 40s dead from gunshot wounds. Commander Jeff Morgan confirmed firearms were found near the victims, stating the incident is being investigated as a homicide-suicide.

Furthermore, the investigation led police to a second home on SE Evan Lane in Issaquah. From there, officers discovered two additional victims: a woman in her 40s and a man in his 30s.

Authorities emphasized there are no outstanding suspects and no ongoing threat to the public. “This hits our community very hard,” Magnan said.

The motive remains under investigation as detectives process both scenes. More information is provided here.

According to Yahoo, new court records reveal that a triple murder-suicide, leaving four dead, was preceded by a “contentious” legal dispute over the care of a disabled family member.

Police have identified two of the victims found in a Mercer Island home as Danielle Cuvillier, 70s, and her son, Mackenzie “Mack” Williams, 40s. Two others, including Danielle’s other son, Nick, who had Angelman syndrome, were found dead in an Issaquah residence.

King County records show Danielle and Mack were embroiled in a battle over Nick’s guardianship. In January, Danielle sought a protection order against Mack, alleging assault. Mack filed counterclaims, alleging Danielle was abusive and neglected Nick’s medical needs. Despite Mack previously surrendering 53 firearms per court order, investigators recovered multiple guns at the scene on Tuesday.

The tragedy was discovered after an attorney received a “concerning email” and requested a welfare check. While police have not confirmed the specific motive, they are investigating the incidents as a linked homicide-suicide. No outstanding suspects are sought.

“Danielle’s friends and family are in a state of shock,” a representative said. The investigation remains ongoing. Updated information can be found here.
