The holidays are a joyful time filled with fun, food, family, and friends. However, sometimes the cheerful traditions of the season do not go as planned. We’ve collected students’ most hilarious holiday faux pas to make you laugh while preparing you for the grueling holiday season ahead.

When I was little, my family had a home video viewing around the holidays and they showed a video of my dad as a two year old getting smacked in the face with a snowball by my four year old aunt as hard as possible and my grandparents kept filming instead of helping him.

We brought home a live evergreen tree one Christmas. While we were setting it up, my mom reached behind and got stung by a bee! Mother Nature reaches all, I guess.

During the winter break of freshmen year, I went to my friend’s ranch in the Okanogan with three other friends and we were taking his Polaris out in the snow. Of course, my friend was trying to show off his driving skills so he attempted to drift in the snow and tipped over the cart, almost paralyzing my right leg.

My family spent hours creating gingerbread houses and competing over which house was best. After a long day of work, we all went to sleep. When we came downstairs the next morning there were only crumbs left where our beautiful masterpieces once laid. After lots of interrogation and denial, my brother finally admitted that he snuck downstairs in the middle of the night and ate all of the houses.
