Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” music video has taken the world by storm this past week. Since its release at this year’s Billboard Music Awards, it has set a VEVO world record by gaining 20.1 million views in the first 24 hours and just yesterday, the song topped the Billboard Top 100 Chart. Check out what three of your fellow MIHS students had to say about Swift’s latest video!

Evan Ashley, Junior
In the beginning, she was fighting with Selena Gomez and then introducing everybody and then it just ends. It was confusing and a waste of time because she didn’t do anything. I was expecting a legit action film, but it wasn’t that at all. It just introduced a bunch of characters. The movie quality was really, really good and the filming was fantastic, but the plot sucked. It wasn’t anything like her other videos.
Hanna Puetz, Sophomore
I was expecting something really great because she kept posting to Instagram all these pictures of famous people. But, after watching it, I was disappointed because I felt like the video didn’t have a central plot or storyline. It was very different from her other videos. She was clearly trying to be more out of the box and different. The “Style” music video that she released recently was different as well. She’s been using a lot more Photoshop and editing features compared to her old albums that were just a love story about her and some guy. Now she’s more creative and spunky.
Jennifer Fu, Senior
Like every Joseph Kahn directed music video, Taylor Swift’s bad blood was a creative masterpiece. They included more female artists than most Oscar-winning films, though I would have liked to see more women of color. Overall, it was a clean take with minimal confusion considering the large amount of characters the director needed to encompass within the time allotted.
