Recently, IRISÉ released their first single album and second digital single “LOVE GAME” on Oct. 12.

IRISÉ is a five-member virtual K-pop girl group under Parable Entertainment, which debuted on February 14, 2025.  Those five members are Luné, Shana, Kiiri, Tiz, and Zerø, with Luné being the leader.

Virtual K-pop groups like Isegye Idol aren’t the only ones who are performing digitally, and there are only a few of them in the world.

The music video is a bright, dynamic and heavily game-themed visual experience that complements the song’s lyrics by treating romance as an arcade challenge. Its primary visual concept is built around a neon, retro-futuristic arcade environment, which serves as the main setting.

When watching, the video frequently incorporates 8-bit and pixel art aesthetics, particularly in transitions, title cards and graphical overlays. At the start, the video opens and transitions using graphics that resemble video game menus and loading screens, often showing the members or key phrases.

There were elements such as score trackers, health bars, and “LEVEL UP” messages throughout the video, framing the entire courtship as a process of an in-game progression.

Not only that, the color scheme is built on vibrant neon colors. Members of the group also interact with custom-designed arcade cabinets featuring their own faces or the “LOVE GAME” logo, sometimes using props like light-up joystick controllers.

Their animation and other work were amazing, resulting in a lively song video. The subject of both video games and arcade experiences is appropriate for each of these components.

I truly loved the choreography sequences. They gave high-energy and emphasized sharp, precise movements that match the driving beat of the song. Even the quick transitions match the quick pace of the music and theme of fast-paced arcade action.

Furthermore, the context is about the excitement and frustration of trying to win someone’s heart, using the metaphor of a game. The speaker admits that they “used to be tired of everything,” but the person they are interested in is “different somehow,” resulting in their heart fluttering when they receive a message.

As the song continues, the person is curious if the other person feels the same, hence finding this “game called ‘you’” to be “far too hard,” as they “don’t even know how to win your heart,” but their pride is hurt by the thought of losing.

I saw this as a deep sense of emotional risk and vulnerability, caught between their desire for a meaningful romantic connection and a fear of rejection.

They even express frustration that they aren’t picking up on their feelings and seem unaware of their heart. Despite both the difficulty and hesitation, the singer is ready to “win” and actively pursue the person, singing  “Dash dash, toward you,” and “Space space, I jump high.”.

Towards the end of the song, the speaker confesses their true feelings, stating, “Honestly, I don’t mind losing / If it’s to you / Fight is meaningless,” and finally declares, “I like you, that’s the truth,” concluding that this “game called love” is a “party for you and me” and it’s time to start!

Overall, I believe that IRISÉ is a group you should keep your eyes on in case you want to see more of them! They currently have their songs on Spotify and have their album merchandise on Music Plant! If you are interested, go check them out!
