The final stage is set for Super Bowl LVIII. This year’s edition of the big game will be held in Las Vegas, NV at Allegiant Stadium on February 11 and will feature the Christian McCaffrey-led San Francisco 49ers and the Patrick Mahomes-led Kansas City Chiefs.
The Chiefs are hoping to win their second straight Super Bowl, which would make them only the eighth franchise in NFL history to do so, the last being the 2003-04 New England Patriots. The Chiefs will be making their fourth appearance in the past five seasons at this year’s championship game. Despite the ups and downs the Chiefs had during the regular season, they have turned it up a notch during the playoffs, with the main man Patrick Mahomes throwing for 718 yards, four touchdowns, and zero interceptions. That has led them to a comfortable win over the Dolphins in the wild-card round, an exciting win over the Bills in the divisional round and an overall comfortable win over the Ravens in the AFC championship.
On the other hand, the 49ers will make their eighth Super Bowl appearance and hope to secure a sixth title for the bay area, making them tied for the most NFL championships in the Super Bowl era. They had a comfortable regular season that secured them the first round bye and home field advantage in the playoffs. They then had very close games, in the divisional round beating the Packers by just 3 points, and in the NFC championship game coming from behind to beat the Lions from a deficit of 24-7 at the start of the second half.
