Bad Bunny, one of the largest artists in the world, released his new album “DeBÍ TIRAR Más FOTos” on Jan. 5, marking his sixth studio album and to me, his best, most enjoyable and most diverse album yet.
Bad Bunny being known as the “King of Latin Trap” takes a sharp turn with “DeBÍ TIRAR Más FOTos,” as it feels more mellow than his previous work. The project is an ode to his home country, Puerto Rico, with Bunny not only mentioning his love for his homeland on many of the songs on the album but also bringing some fellow Puerto Rican artists, such as RaiNao, Omar Courtez and Dei V, to feature on some of the tracks..
The hour-and-two-minute-long album gave us 17 songs with nearly all of them being a hit in my book. If I had to narrow down my five favorites it would go “NUEVAYoL,” “TURiSTA,” “EoO,” “LO QUE LE PASÓ A HAWAII” and my personal favorite, which also seems to be the internet’s favorite, “DtMF.”
I was hugely impressed by Bad Bunny’s calmer approach and I absolutely loved how the album felt like a love letter to Puerto Rico. The consistency between tracks along with his new appealing style makes me, usually more of a rap and R&B listener, look forward to Bad Bunny’s next project to see what more he has to offer for the future of Latin music.
